In our spacious semi-detached house (safe & friendly neighbourhood) you’ll find everything for a hassle free holiday. All day there is sun & shade in the garden (200m2). Steenwijk (750 yrs old, mid week party Wed'day) provides all the basics you need during holiday, inclusive lots of restaurants and bars. Within 15 minutes driving of this rural town (21.000) you'll find 2 National Parks. Like famous Weerribben-Wieden, which won the title 'Most beautiful place of the Netherlands’ (picturesque Giethoorn is very popular). The swimming pool is just 2 minutes away, several lakes 10/15 & the beach (Lemmer) 40 minutes; Amsterdam is only 75 min. driving. Within an hour driving you'll find lots of famous, medieval villages and towns.

We moved to this region because of the very diverse nature (unspoiled, quiet woods, biking, heath, lakes and canals), so take our bikes and enjoy the terrific surroundings. The Weerribben/Wieden is best visited at a summer evening in a canoe! The region offers in summer a wide variation of activities, with lots of outdoor cultural festivities (music, flower shows, Shakespeare theatre). Thanks to our three sons (10, 13, 16) there's enough in the house and garden to play with.
