My 2-bedroom condo is a townhouse with most of the living space on the third floor. There are spectacular views of the river, thanks to the open design of the living, dining, sitting rooms and kitchen. The master bedroom shares the view, with sliding doors opening on the deck. The unique design with sloping ceilings and open plan makes an intriguing dwelling, and the skylights and walls of windows create a light, airy feeling.

My immediate neighborhood is a wildfowl sanctuary, close to walking paths and lovely riverside restaurants. It's about a five-minute drive to downtown New Haven. A short ride to the east brings you to quaint seaside towns with craft centers and beautiful beaches; an hour and a half to the west is Manhattan!

I'm Andrea, a nurse, freelance writer, and former editor of children's books. I have two grown daughters (25 and 31) who wouldn't dream of vacationing with Mom... My favorite pastime is traveling, with many favorite destinations! At home and en route I love to read, and a new passion is snorkeling and underwater photography. Many members of my large family live in or around New Haven and are more than happy to advise on such vital issues as where the best sushi can be found and which brick oven pizza kitchen makes the best pie.
