This is a two storey house built to enjoy the full views over the loch and to be a comfortable family home. We have 3 bedrooms (easily sleeping 5/6) and lots of living space with music, books and games as well as the TV/DVD.
The living room, with its open fireplace, the study and the library room are upstairs to enjoy the views. The big, well equipped kitchen/dining room is downstairs. The kitchen has a fitted combi-microwave and separate oven, gas hob, double Belfast sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a walk-in larder. The big table seats 8+.
The master bedroom (with its kingsize bed) upstairs is en-suite. Downstairs, one of the 2 bedrooms has a kingsize bed and the other a queen size bed. There is a bathroom and a loo/shower room downstairs. There is a separate laundry room, with washing machine and dryer, big garden, garage for car, bikes etc., central heating and broadband.
Our cat, Minou, needs feeding! He is shy and visitors may not even see much of him as he comes and goes through his cat-flap in the back door.
Killichonan is an ancient hamlet on the north banks of Loch Rannoch where we have some wonderful neighbours.
We are about 12 kms from Kinloch Rannoch village where there is an excellent small supermarket, post office, caf?/gift shop, primary school, medical centre and two churches. There is also a hotel with its saloon and public bars. There is a repair garage in Kinloch Rannoch. We are 45 kms. from Pitlochry (on the A9) and 45 kms from Aberfeldy. Both of these towns are a delight to visit. We are about 12 kms. from Rannoch Station on the beautiful West Highland railway line with easy links to Glasgow and Fort William/Mallaig (and the ?Harry Potter? steam train).
The following websites give you a flavour of this amazing area: * Rannochscotland.co.uk (local tourism association) * East Schiehallion - John Muir Trust (about one of our iconic mountains) * The Jacobite trip (details of the steam train of Harry Potter fame) * Crannog Centre - for a fascinating glimpse into the region's past and a great time out for kids.
