Our home is a two-storey brick & tile house, in a modern metropolitan suburb some 20 km south west of Perth. It is close to the coastal beaches and Fremantle port and to beaches, boating and recreation generally on the lower Swan River. Its elevated position gives near-180 degree views to the ranges to the east.

There is ready access to Perth's metropolitan freeway network and its links to major highways to the north, east and south to the wineries and tall timber of south-west WA.

Rooms consist of a double bedroom with en-suite, lounge and balcony at the upper level. Below are a large open living/dining/kitchen area, dining room, two bedrooms, bathroom, toilet and laundry. The back yard contains a covered patio, garden, trees and "granny flat", now set up for computer access. Under the main roof are an open carport for 2 vehicles and lock-up store.

Local shopping centres offer most services and a major regional shopping centre (Garden City) is some 5 km away. Adjoining suburbs offer library, theatres, sailing, swimming, bowls, tennis, cricket, football, hockey, fishing and more. Most terrain is relatively flat and well suited for walking and cycling. Local bus services operate daily and link to Perth's main-line public train and bus services.

We are a semi-retired professional couple, with 3 children and 6 grandchildren, all living in Perth suburbs. We also have a small (0.6 Ha) garden/orchard property some 250 km south of Perth.

We have visited UK many times and have a particular fondness for the canals on which we have cruised some 6 months in total. In our last visit in 2010 we cruised the Leicestershire Ring then enjoyed an "Oxford Experience" (summer school).

In 2002 we shared a 3 month "house swap" in the Cotswolds, with a couple whom we met on the canals in 1999. We maintain contact with them.
