Our stone-built house in a country area of Biscay is a great base for visiting the cities of Bilbao, San Sebastián and Vitoria. Great walking in Urkiola National Park, 10 mins walk from the picturesque old town of Abadiño, and 3 kms. from Durango (30 mins Bilbao, 1hr San Sebastián and Vitoria).

Lots of things to do in area, days out in city, exploring the lovely Biscay coast and beaches, great walking routes in the nearby mountains, bird-watching, rock-climbing, horse-riding etc. Pretty local towns and villages, bars & restaurants with marvellous Basque food.

Double en-suite and 2 twin rooms, sharing bathroom. Further bathroom downstairs with large kitchen, sitting-room, dining-room and outside terrace. Wifi, open fireplace.

We are an English/Basque couple looking for a swap for 2 weeks mid September 2013. We have just done a successful swap at Easter and have organised another for Xmas 2013 so are now only looking for September. We have been hosting people in our house since summer 2012 on Airbnb (see refs and photos on their site)and like helping people make the most of this great area.

We have a cat who is very affectionate and friendly, although we can arrange to send her to family if inconvenient for you. We are happy to look after your pets/plants too. There will be an family member nearby if you need any help and to show you how everything works. We know the importance of treating someone's home like your own.
