Spacious family appartment, excellent location for visiting Berlin

Quiet, spacious, 3rd floor flat, 135m² in Kreuzberg, close to Schlesisches Tor underground station (Ubahn). It is a pleasant, comfortable place to be; most of the flat has been renovated although some parts are still a bit shabby. The appartment is part of a self-managed housing project. We know all our very nice neighbours and there is a shared yard with seating and a large sandpit.

The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a dishwasher, food processor and hand-held blender but no micro-wave.

We have beds for 5 - 2 double beds and a single bed that has replaced the bunk beds in the photo. The aquarium in one bedroom has gone. There is a narrow sofa bed for one person in the office and another good-quality sofa bed that sleeps two in the living room / kitchen. We can also arrange mattresses to go on the floor somewhere if people prefer not to sleep in the living room.


There are plenty of toys, children's DVDs, puzzles and board games.

We have a piano in the office ( not shown).

There are two bathrooms, one brand-new with a shower, the other older, containing a bathtub with showerhead.

Please note, there is no lift! (This is typical for older buildings in Berlin).

We also have a garden in a "garden colony" about 15 minutes away by bus. It's a nice place to chill and barbecue, close to the river and woodland. We have someone to take care if it while we are away, but visitors are welcome to use it.

About the location

Excellent location for visiting Berlin - central, good public transport, quick access to the main sights and cultural venues. Lots of local cafes , restaurants and clubs but you can also walk straight into greenery and stroll for miles along the canals and river, or through parks and woodland. There are also several good playgrounds within easy walking distance for young children. The district (the Wrangelkiez) is popular with tourists but still has a local feel to it.

It is only fair to mention the sizeable dealer scene in nearby Görlitzer Park, spilling over into Falckensteinstrasse and Görlitzer Bahnhof underground station. The streets are safe, though, and most of the scene is easy enough to avoid if you stay out of the park in question (there are plenty of other parks nearby).
