We have a beautifully appointed waterfront / reserve home on the shores of Lake Macquarie which is the largest salt water lake in the southern hemisphere.

Our home is set on 1000 square metre property with gardener maintained front and back gardens. The home has a homely, cottage feel and our gardens and inclusions try to reflect that. At the rear of the house, there is undercover area for our caravan and 2 cars and a separate clinic / workshop and garage for another vehicle. The house has remote controlled security gates and garden lighting front and rear.

We have a new large open- plan kitchen dining area with all modern appliances and furnishings.

We have 3 double bedrooms, one of which is used as a study and gym area. Our front deck has magnificent views and direct access to the lake. Home theatre includes 60" smart tv with surround sound and an external entertaining area with sound as well. (Pay TV and Netflix included), bedrooms have tv and all rooms are air conditioned. New NBN fast broadband internet, gym and some sporting equipment is available.

The back garden has been used for 2 weddings and also a Christening in the gazebo and surrounding garden area. We have 2 bicycles and helmets, golf clubs and two powered boats and fishing tackle that is available.
We have many of our meals on our front deck with great views and separate kitchen / BBQ area which can be used throughout the year. Our locality does not experience any frosts in our "winter" months of June and July with temperatures averaging 19C. Summer temperatures are tempered with our position and always pleasant.

A car swap could be arranged if required and reciprocal. We have twin Maltese / ShihTzu dogs and would welcome their care but it is not essential in an exchange as any of our family are happy to look after them.

About the location

We have a local airport at Newcastle (Williamtown) but does not include some international flights. Sydney airport under 2 hours.

The population of Lake Macquarie is 190,000 but our home is away from the busy city area on a "no through" road and very little traffic. We enjoy our privacy very much. We are within short walking distance of the City Art Gallery and Awaba House which is a great restaurant where we often eat and is a venue for many weddings.

A cycleway which is 15 - 20 kms in length around the northern reaches of the lake starts close to our home.

Three different shopping malls are a short 10 and 15 minute drive away. The popular Hunter Valley vineyards tourist attractions are a pleasant 40 minute drive and Port Stephens, popular for whale and dolphin watching is under 1 hour drive. Sydney via car or train is approximately 2 hours away.
Apart from our beautiful lake, there are 5 magnificent surfing beaches of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie which are all very pleasing 15 to 20 minutes car trips from home.

Birdlife, boating, fishing, cruising, golfing are enjoyed virtually at our doorstep and include most of the reasons why we have lived here for over 40 years.
