Characteristic 1930`s Dutch family home - Voorburg

We have a typical 1930`s Dutch family home, with high ceilings, stained glass windows and original doors. I like to decorate and aim for a warm, friendly, welcoming feel. Downstairs you will find an open living space, very typical for the Dutch. We have parquet flooring, a well-equipped kitchen, cozy sitting area and a dining table which can sit 8. There are traditional doors leading out into the small garden (15 metres long, which for Dutch city standards it is considered big :)), which gets a lot of sun and has a large trampoline. There is room to eat outside with a table which can accommodate 10.

We have a 3 storey house and on the first floor is the main bedroom, 1 teenage bedroom (wtih a high bed) and a toddler room (this only has a 160cm toddler bed, but this can be removed and a full size mattress can be put on the floor). The family bathroom with separate bath and shower are also on this floor, along with a separate toilet,

On the top floor (second storey) there are 2 further bedrooms, both with full size single beds. The washing machine, drier and a wash hand basin are also on this floor.

We have a front garden where we keep all our bikes, which you are welcome to use!

About the location

We have a great shopping street (with Saturday market) just a 10 minute walk away, the tram stop with direct trams to Delft, the beach and The Hague are also 10 minutes by foot. Or, can can choose to cycle everywhere using our bikes, as everything is within cycling distance!

It`s a 10 minute cycle to The Hague central station where you can park your bike in the bike garage and get trains to all the major cities - Amsterdam, Utrecht (well worth a visit!), Leiden (where the pilgrims stopped en route to america), Rotterdam, Haarlem and many more wonderful places to discover in this small country! We would love to welcome you in our home and help you to discover this country!

The Hague has a lovely stretch of beach, but also a vibrant city centre with a mix of old buildings and new. The Dutch parliament is situated in The Hague and is a beautiful old building which you can walk through. There are also plenty of shops if you like to spend a day shopping. There are restaurants a plenty and many lovely independent cafes where you can grab a coffee or drink a beer in the afternoon. If you want to go to the cinema The Hague has a few different options and most films are in English (Dutch subtitles).

If you enjoy museums then the Mauritshuis can not be missed. It displays many of the famous Dutch artists paintings from the Golden Era and of course the famous `Girl with the Pearl Earring` is housed there. There is plenty to do and see!
