Peak district family home

We have a deceptively large family home situated over three floors. It is a light and airy house, with a balcony from the kitchen which looks out over the valley and into the peak district. On the ground floor there is a Den (dart board, small kitchen area, large TV and comfy sofa, lots of books and access to garden), a restful study (small room with pull out bed, desk and computer) and a shower room. On the first floor we have a kitchen diner with a table that can easily accommodate large family meals and a balcony with beautiful views and access to the garden. This room adjoins a large family room with a smaller tv, books, games, large sofa and toys. The second floor has two large bedrooms, one with a bunkbed, pull out and lots of toys one with a large double and great views! There is also a small box room in which we can erect a cot or pull out bed.
There si also a fmaily bathroom with a large bath and shower.

About the location

Although suburban our hosue is actually situatued within walking distance to a national park - the Peak District. This is an area of outsatnding natural beauty, with short and long walks for all abilities, climbing, bouldering and orienteering are some of the activities on offer. If you like historial landmarks we are a 20min drive from Chatsworth house, (which you may have seen in Pride and Prjudice as Mr Darcy`s home), with its stunning gardens and architecture. Another short drive will take you to the market towns of Bakewell or Matlock or you may simply want to walk down to Paddly Gorge with the family and paddle in the clear waters runnig down from the valleys.

As many people come to this area for the peak district as come for the creative and arts culture which thrives in this city. Once renowned for its steel and craftsmen Sheffield holds onto this history with a culture of creativity in the arts and in music. Through the summer there are regular festivals which celebrate this aspect of Sheffield and there are always opportunities to visit artists and printmakers in their studios and take part on workshops or classes if this is something which excites you. There are two excellent theatres, art galleries and a great museum which is accessible for small children as well as interested adults. For real ale ethusiasts Sheffield has breweries on the door stop, just down the road from our house is a real ale pub with over 12 to choose from, continuously changing and challenging the drinkers palate!

Sheffield is a green city which has some of the most accessible parks and walks in the UK. But is is also a family friendly city, each park has a playground suitable for all ages and cafes where ice cream is always served and reasonable cakes and coffees. Just five mins walking distance from our house is Forge Damn, a playground, stream, duck pond and cafe situated in a forested part of the valley and a hub of walkers and families. For families Sheffield has all the usual entertainment, swimming pools, great cinemas, soft play, trampoline parks and skate parks. There is easy access to shops and Meadowhall, a large shapping mall is half an hour away with all the high street shops, a bowling alley and laserquest should a rainy day need escaping! The more sporty might want to play golf or go to the driving range which is walking distance from our house and has amzing views over the peak district. There are tennis courts a short drive away and regular running and walking meets to which you welcome to attend.
