Traditional Stone Built Canal side house

We built the house 16 years ago and it is finished to high standard. 3 of the bedrooms are double and have ensuite WC/Shower. There is also a small single bedroom. The main family bathroom has a large bath. We are located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, about 200 yards from a Pub which serves food. The Brecon and Monmouth Canal is at the foot of our garden and quaint canal barges pass by regularly. There is parking for 3 vehicles with ease. The house is detached and is overlooked by a 16th Century farmhouse, built from the stone of a castle ruins. The "main road" is about 75 yards from the house and traffic noise is minimal. We have a range cooker in the kitchen/diner and a table that will easily seat 8. We cook regularly and the kitchen is well equipped. There is a spacious Lounge with seating for 6 Adults and 2 children. We are keen walkers and there are a lot of routes which can begin from our front door.

About the location

We live in a Hamlet of about 100 people, spread over about 3 square miles. In the summer, our trees provide complete isolation at night, the canal footpath at the other side of the canal is often busy with cyclists and walkers. There is a large campsite in the village which is very popular and is managed to ensure minimal noise. There is a regular (but infrequent) bus service to Brecon and to Abergavenny. We are extremely fortunate to have a very popular public house in our village and the typical "pub grub" is good value. We are surrounded by hills and PenyFan (the highest hill in Southern Britain) is about 4 miles away as the crow flies.
