Welcome to the new site

Welcome to the brand new Guardian Home Exchange website. The design has been updated to make it a brighter and faster way to find your perfect home swap. We’ve added lots of new tools to help you arrange and manage your exchanges. 

Making a great site better

• Search: Easier and faster. Smart filters allow you to quickly find locations and homes with features that you really want.
• Swap agreements: You can now add and manage swap agreements through the new “Swap agreements” tool.
• Trip reports: Been on an exchange? Tell us all about it with the new “Trip reports” tool.
• High resolution home photos: You can now add larger and unlimited images to make your listing stand out.
• Messaging system: The messaging system has been updated to make it much more user friendly. New message features include:
  • “Message templates” - so that you can quickly send enquiry messages, 
  • “Read notifications” - so you can see that your sent message has been read, 
  • “Chat” - so that you can easily chat using the messaging system and 
  • “Send files” - so you can send your swap partners useful information prior to your exchange. 
• Saved searches / swap match alerts: You can now save searches and receive notification emails when there are new homes added that match your saved searches.
• Add additional homes free: Do you have a second home? You can now add it for free!
• Profile page: Home swapping is all about the people – make your listing more personal by adding your photo and details about who will be travelling.
• Map search: New improved map search (coming soon)
• Video uploads: Upload videos to your listing (coming soon)
   

What existing members should do

There are a few things you should do to ensure that your new-look profile utilise all the powerful new features:

• Upload new photos: All your original photos are available but update them with new photos to take advantage of the higher resolution available (and add more if you wish).
• Add profile info: Click the “Edit profile” link to add your profile photo and information about you and your interests.
• Check your details: Click the “Edit listing” link and double check that your information and map location is correct.

Bugs & suggestions

We really value our members. The decision to use our service is something we never take for granted. We have done everything we could think of to make this transition very smooth and to make the new site a big step forward for everyone.
