Gorgeous Design Led Edwardian Semi Detached House in South Wimbledon

We have lived in this house for 3 years. It is a 3 story, semi detached Edwardian house. We bought it off The Modern House website, which is a design led estate agency. We LOVE the house. It is spacious, yet cosy, the bedrooms are a good size (one of them is a games room) and its perfect for our family of 4.

There is a large open plan living area and kitchen at the back, with exposed brick and Crittall doors onto our garden with a seating area and firepit. We have a cosy sitting room at the front with a gas fire (easy to light!), and SKy, Netflix, Disney + and Amazon in both rooms.

Upstairs there are 3 good sized bedrooms. A larger one at the front, a small one in the middle (currently a Games room for the kids) and a cosy back bedroom.

The top floor is a master suite, with a huge bath, walk in shower and separate WC at the front plus a walk in wardrobe. There is also a roof that opens in the master suite.

About the location

Wimbledon is a vibrant but safe area with plenty going on for families, including of course the famous tennis tournament and the Common, with its beautiful walks and wooded areas. We live a short drive from both, as well as Wimbledon Village which has a lot to offer, with its collection of pubs and designer shops as well as restaurants. Wimbledon town (a 10 minute walk) has a cinema, shopping centre and lots more besides, as well as access to Waterloo Station (central London) in about 15 minutes and a Tube line that runs into Chelsea and the West End.

Our particular area is South Wimbledon - we live about 2 minutes from that tube station, which is on the Northern Line, connecting straight into the West End in about half an hour without changing lines. You can feel the low rumble of the Tube under the house (although it won't bother you).

Of course Central London has world class museums and attractions, some of the best shopping and fashion in the world, and an enviable nightlife as well.
