During the winter months, November through March, there are two wonderful ski resorts, Big Mountain in Whitefish Montana, and Fernie in Fernie, B.C. Canada, just 45 minutes away. Locally there is cross-country skiing and snow shoeing as well as old fashioned sledding parties. After a day of winter activities a traditional Finnish Steam Bath House.
There are beautiful hiking trails, for all levels, in the proposed wilderness of the Ten Lakes Scenic Area. You can also enjoy canoeing, horseback riding, rock climbing, and fishing.
