Higher Church View - South Tawton home swap
Our delightful thatched cottage, which is half of a traditional Devon Longhouse, is situated opposite the ancient 12 cent Parish Church. It is of cruck frame construction, and was built around 1490. It is in the peaceful hamlet of South Tawton, on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park. Our hamlet nestles on the eastern side of Cawsand Beacon, the highest point on Dartmoor. Lovely country walks start from our front door. It is 30 minutes to Exeter. The cottage, lovingly renovated to a high standard, is open-plan on the ground floor, but has retained many of its original features, such as beams, inglenook fireplace and bread oven. Limestone floor downstairs, with full central heating for chilly evenings. We have 2 double bedrooms; the main bedroom has a king size double with iGel mattress, and the smaller bedroom has a 4 foot 6 inch double bed. Outside there is a private south facing courtyard garden which is not overlooked, another private lawned area with trees, a summer house and secure off road parking.
