HUGE remodeled home near Washington, DC - Falls Church

Our house was remodeled from top to bottom in 2017. At 2,700 square feet, you and your travel companions will have lots of room to spread out. There are 3 bedrooms, but we also have a sofa bed upstairs as well as a large sectional couch downstairs.

Our large kitchen is one of our favorite places in the house to spend time. You will love the backyard where you can relax around the fire pit while the kids play in the grass.

If you’re traveling with a baby/toddler, we have a crib, rocking chair, pack and play, stroller, car seat, high chair, booster seat, and tons of toys and books. We also have wireless internet and a wireless printer so you can easily print your travel documents.

We have two cats that will need to be cared for while you are here; we will leave instructions, food, and litter for them or we can arrange for a friend to stop by and check on them. The cats are, well, very cat-like and low-maintenance. They mostly just sleep and eat. They take awhile to warm up to new people but are very friendly once they do.

Car exchange is negotiable.

Cleaners come regularly on a bi-weekly basis.

We would be happy to leave suggestions for our favorite restaurants and places to visit. We are "Friends of the National Zoo" so if you borrow our membership cards, you can park the car for free! With enough notice, Tommy can probably arrange for you to visit and tour the Capitol if you are interested. Just let us know!

We hope to find a family with small kids (and a safe, toddler-friendly home) to exchange with. A crib or toddler bed is a must!

About the location

Our home is located in Falls Church, approximately ten miles from Washington DC, the National Mall, monuments, and museums. We live in a great suburban neighborhood on a quiet street. It is very family friendly; you will constantly see people going for a stroll/walking their dogs.

Our little community has a lot to offer: an award-winning farmer’s market on Saturdays, lots of parks and playgrounds, great local restaurants, a jogging trail, and a large, new superarket. We are also pretty close to Tyson’s Corner Center – a huge shopping mall with restaurants and a movie theater. There are two metro stations both less than two miles from our house, so if you are not comfortable driving in DC traffic, travel in and out of DC is still very easy.

We’re also not too far from Northern Virginia wine country. We have vineyards and wineries just 20-40 miles away. We have been to several local wineries and love the scenery, as well as the wine tasting! It is not necessary to make appointments for wine tastings; most places are very casual (and kid-friendly) and allow you to bring a picnic, buy a bottle, and stay as long as you like!
