The Hermitage home swap

Our home was built in 1757 and is situated in the heart of the idyllic village of Osmotherley which lies on the fringe of the Hambleton Hills within the North York Moors National Park.

The cottage has been completely renovated. Downstairs there is a sunny sitting room with a wood burning stove for cooler evenings, a study, a kitchen with dining area (and access to the rear garden), utility room, cloakroom and shower room. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms (one with a king size bed and the other with a double bed) and another shower room. We have a delightful garden and outside eating area.

We have 2 independent cats who simply need dried food and water once per day.

About the location

Osmotherley is a popular centre for walkers and cyclists. There are fabulous walks from the door.

In the village there are 3 pub/restaurants, a small shop, a fish and chip shop and a tea shop. Osmotherley is 8 miles from the market town of Northallerton where there are supermarkets and a full range of shops. There is a regular bus service to Northallerton and nearby Stokesley.

Nearby places of interest include York, Durham, Newcastle with excellent museums, galleries and theatres, Fountains Abbey, Mount Grace Priory, Helmsley, Whitby, and Saltburn - all within an hour`s drive.
