Our home is a spacious modern version of an English/French country house with a parklike setting in a garden suburb close to Whangarei city. It has modern conveniences and the main bedroom and ensuite are on the ground floor. The land was once farmed and still retains the wonderful drystone walls built by early farmers. Cattle graze in adjacent paddocks and native birds inhabit the large trees. It is very restful.
Across the road is a golf course. The city is 7 minutes away by car. Whangarei has a domestic airport, the international airport is in Auckland, two hours drive south.
Northland region is reknown for having a sub tropical climate, with many wonderful beaches. It is an area for gamefishing, diving and recreational boating and fishing. It is the gateway to the Poor Knights Islands, world famous as a top diving destination, and the Bay of Islands tourist resort and gamefishing grounds.
