Outside my front door you not only get a spectacular mountain view of the Rockies but the hiking, biking, golfing, tennis and climbing is within walking distance. The Bow River, famous for its brown trout, is walking distance through the larch islands just across the road and down the path.
If you like shopping and the urban living style then Calgary is an hour by car and Banff is 22km west of Canmore. Canmore has all the recreational facilities in walking distance from swimming to a hockey arena.
