Dan Y Coed ( means 'beneath the trees') - Montgomery, Wales

Dan Y Coed is a 2 bedroom single storey Welsh longhouse set in its own 3 acres of hill-side. The house is small but very comfortable,with modern facilities, log burner, fitted kitchen and oak doors.
There is also a separate timber clad annexe with 2 sleeping platforms, each with double bed ( access via steep wooden ladders) and a double sofa bed in the main room. This is full of books, has an office and log burner, and electric heating. We use it for a writing space, guest accommodation and for boys when home from university. There is a shower room / toilet and a kettle for tea and coffee. You're welcome to use this too.
We have a friendly cat who needs little attention and a young collie called Daisy. Daisy can be looked after by a neighbour if you prefer. Also a few free range hens.

About the location

The walking and bird watching is wonderful, with Dolforwyn Castle up in the woods behind us and overlooking the river Severn. Come and get away from it all for a few days!
We are close to Newtown and Welshpool, and slightly further off Shrewsbury for shops.
