The village of Silverdale lies south of the Lake District and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Silverdale is known for it's woodlands and views over the Kent Estuary.
Close to the village is Leighton Moss, a RSPB reserve, known for it's large reedbeds and special birds, particularly the Booming Bitten!
There are a few shops in the village, including a newsagent, post office, Co-op, butchers and greengrocers. We also have a playground, swimming pool, cafe and garden centre as well as 3 pubs!
The village has a train station with links to Manchester/Liverpool and a coastal route to Barrow-in-Furnace.
There is easy access to the Lake District and to Kendal and Lancaster. Both Kendal and Lancaster are historic towns with art centres, cinemas and restaurants.
