Our house is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, on the Dorset coast path, which is part of the Jurassic Coast, now a world heritage site. The house used to be a farm house, and before that a monastery; it dates from before 1600, and although modernised, retains masses of character. The walls are made of thick purbeck stone, famous for its fossils. The house is huge; as well as 5 bedrooms, there is an enormous games room with home cinema, table tennis, table football and darts, drum kit and keyboard, a conservatory, a large kitchen with Aga, sitting room with fireplace, separate study, small walled garden and large open garden and field. There is a barn opposite owned by us, at the moment unused except for the barn owls and kestrels that nest there.
