Yorkshire Dales National Park

The house is all on one level (a bungalow with no "upward extensions"). There is one family bath/shower room (+ handbasin + WC) and a separate toilet (+handbasin). Rooms include one large lounge/living room, a dining room and a kitchen. There is one largish (depends on what large means to you!!) double bedroom and one single bedroom. The other two "bedrooms" are currently used as a "study" and a "studio" although the latter, without too much rearrangement, could accommodate one, or even two), more person(s). We have a temporary bed if required. Outside to the front is a garden overlooking fields and hills across a small lane, and to the back is a smaller enclosed garden with a paved terrace area (for BBQs??). There is a small garage, currently used mainly for storage of garden tools, garden furniture, barbecue, etc. but we do have a hard-standing which will accommodate four or even five cars off-road, although it normally has just two (well spaced!).

Please note that although we don`t exclude smokers from our house, they are expected to do their smoking outside! Our house and its contents aren`t really set up for pets or small children so sadly we must say no to these.

About the location

Our detached bungalow is on a small country lane overlooking fields and hills, with footpaths almost from the front door and a village pub-restaurant at each end of the lane. The house is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with its beautiful hill and river-valley scenery, and with walks to suit all levels. Nearby Skipton (5 mins by bus/car) on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, has a large street market, an excellently preserved mediaeval castle, an interesting old parish church, a swimming pool, cinema and all usual amenities (shops, pubs, restaurants, etc. Picturesque 13th Century Bolton Priory, beside the River Wharfe, is c4 miles/6km away, Fountains Abbey (UNESCO) is 25miles/40km east.

Bradford and Leeds are within easy reach by train (45minutes) from Skipton. York is 40mls (64km) to the east and The Lake District is 50miles/80km north west.
