Castle Douglas is a thriving and friendly market town in Dumfries and Galloway, an area of outstanding natural beauty, popular with walkers, bird watchers and families with children of all ages.
Our house is a few miles from Loch Ken for watersports, a few miles in other direction for beautiful coast line and beaches, but you could easily spend all day browsing in the High street's galleries and antiques/book shops.
The house was 2 traditional cottages in the town, now renovated and very comfortable with underfloor heating, 2 lovely bathrooms, a study/ spare room and 3 bedrooms. Lady of the house has dust mite allergies so it's pretty clean lines with slate floors downstairs and carpet upstairs. Whole place very light and airy mix of contemporary and cosy. Well set up for kids but also civilised and sophisticated for grown ups! We can recommend lots of places to go and things to do etc.
