Lovely 1 Bed home in Warkworth, England

We live in the beautiful county of Northumberland and have recently built a one bedroom self contained apartment, The Waiting Rooms, in the south wing of our 1847 Railway Station. Previously Warkworth station and Station Master's house and now our private residence. Trains still pass us on the East Coast Main Line, as well as specially chartered steam trains occasionally ie The Northern Belle.

We are based a mile outside Warkworth village on the east coast surrounded by rural farmland, bus service one minute from house, hourly service. Alnmouth train station which can take you into Newcastle or Edinburgh is a 10 minute drive away.

5 minutes drive to the Warkworth village with Warkworth Castle and the Hermitage, Warkworth Cricket Club, shops, pubs and restaurants, plus Coquet river walks. See http://www.warkworth.co.uk for details/pictures of the village. 10 minutes to Warkworth beach and golf club.

Northumberland is called the Secret Kingdom because it is the least populated county in the UK - driving is pleasurable because there is hardly any traffic, beaches are never crowded.

Local attractions include 15 minutes to Alnwick to visit the Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Castle, numerous beaches, golf courses, sea/river fishing, horse riding, walking, cycling, birdwatching.

We are 10 minutes from the A1 and a 40 minutes drive on the A1 North for the Cheviots for spectacular hiking/walking or A1 South for great shopping in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne or the Gateshead Metro Centre.
