Nineteenth century, stone-built quarryman's cottage standing in a characterful terrace close to shops, and to cliffs looking out across Lyme Bay. Little, snug, un-smart. Centrally heated. Walled, sunny garden.

This island has a raw and rugged beauty with an engaging quality of strangeness - insularity, too, of course. Five miles to Weymouth, its engagingly vulgar antithesis, and then there's all of lovely Dorset. Wonderful walking, sailing (Olympics 2012 venue), birdwatching and climbing. Church Ope Cove is a magical place to swim. Very good restaurants. This is now our second home, so it's very available. House in Redditch also sometimes available.
