York Cottage is a Grade II-listed 17C thatched cottage, with a modern wing which houses the master suite and the drawing room.

The original cottage is completely renovated with all modern conveniences including dishwasher, oil-fired heating, flat screen TV, Playstation 3, Apple TV, wireless internet. In addition to the master suite there is another double bedroom, plus a single bedroom. For unexpected guests there is an additional rollunder bed in the single room, and a separate office which has a double sofa bed.

Surrounding York Cottage is a charming garden, with something on offer all year. We live on the village green, which has cricket playing most weekends in summer, swapping to football in winter.

Quiet and idyllic, it has everything a proper English village should have - quaintness, a charming pub (which serves the best fish and chips in Cambridge), and friendly locals.

Barrington also has a village shop-cum-post office, and has good transport links to both Cambridge and London (it is about 45 minutes to Kings Cross by train).
