The house was built in the 1920s, "California Craftsman" style. Lots of wood and interesting features. We live on the top two floors. The 1st (or 2nd if you are American) floor has the kitchen, dining room, lounge, a bedroom, a study and a just-modernised bathroom.
The attic/loft space is modern, sunny and open plan. It has spaces for sleeping, TV viewing, eating, a small kitchen and bathroom.
We are 2 minutes walk from a main street with charming shops and restaurants. Berkeley city is a few blocks up this street, and its university and downtown are a few minutes by car. San Francisco is easily reached from nearby tube station in about 30 minutes.
