A Historic 4 Bedroom Family House in the heart of Pennines

A spacious, quirky home ideal for larger families and groups. Our Grade 2 listed town house was built for weavers in about 1790: one of the earliest Hebden Bridge 'Over and Under dwellings' now combined to make a family home on 5 floors (lots of stairs). There are 3 permanent large bedrooms and 4th sunny guest room. We have original beams & a wood burning stove and views of the beautiful hillside. We have a small cobbled courtyard area at the back, quiet & sunny, but with access through for our neighbours. We also have a separate garden (down the lane & down steep steps) with barbecue area and badminton lawn. We are on the main road at the front with free parking nearby. The house is five minutes walk from an eclectic mix of shops, pubs, great cafes & restaurants. Public transport is good: you don`t need to drive to enjoy the local area.

Bring your walking boots or wellies to explore the fantastic countryside on our doorstep. Try out some local ales in one of the nearby bars - or relax in front of our wood-burner with a board game from our collection!

About the location

Hebden Bridge is a thriving old mill town. It has a Bohemian feel: very welcoming to all ages and backgrounds. For its small area there is a lot going on. There are over 30 bars and cafes within a 10 minute walk of our house! We have a local cinema and theatre and a great music venue (the Trades Club). We are near Howarth with easy connections to Manchester (35 mins by train) & Leeds (55 mins).
Old mills and chimneys are still dotted around the landscape, together with the `under and over` houses like ours which typify the area. The old mill worker tracks surrounding the town provide hundreds of different walks - canalside, woodland, moorland, old industrial, rivers and waterfalls. There are several wild swimming spots nearby and an outdoor sauna/ spa.
