Our house, which is 5 years old and situated on The Timbers Edge Resort, is 10 minutes from the centre of Mandurah, with local shops, beaches and walks by the Estuary. It is close to the Cut Golf Course, a challenging links course overlooking the Indian Ocean

Our 3-bedroom home has a master bedroom with queen size bed, en-suite toilet/shower and walk in wardrobe. There is a second double bedroom with adjacent bathroom, modern kitchen, 6 seater dining room, lounge and library/reading room. It is equipped with modern appliances including large screen TV with surround sound, high speed internet, computer and WiFi. Bedroom 3 is currently used as a study but has a small single bed.

Outside is a large patio area for entertaining, BBQing and enjoying the beautiful WA weather. The patio, with its drop-down blinds, overlooks a large, attractive common garden area with plenty of birdlife and native vegetation.

For those who like beaches, there are several almost deserted ones within 5 minutes drive. Swimming, surfing and beach fishing are common activities.

Dawesville, a suburb of Mandurah, is located between the Harvey Estuary and the Indian Ocean. It is also home to the largest inland waterway in Western Australia - the Harvey Estuary and the Peel Inlet which combine to produce an array of fishing and crabbing options in the summer months. However, due to the crab population declining over the past half-decade, September and October and now banned from crabbing in the estuary. Mandurah, 70kms south of Perth & 55kms south of Fremantle, has a train service to Perth running every 15 mins. It is a holiday/weekend town with many dining and entertainment facilities. It is also convenient for trips to southern WA wineries (Margaret River), resorts etc.

Mandurah has grown from isolated holiday community along the shores of the Peel-Harvey Estuary to a major regional city in just over a decade. In recent times, it has formed a conurbation with Perth along the coast; it is only 20 kms south of Rockingham, an outer southern suburb of Perth. It has also become a popular lifestyle alternative for Perth retirees and its connection with the Perth CBD was strengthened with the opening of the Perth-Mandurah railway line in December 2007 and a direct road connection via the Kwinana Freeway built 2010.

Dawesville Shopping Centre (15mins walk & 5min drive), has a good range of shops, including supermarket (IGA), bottle shop, cafes, doctor, chemist etc, together with several take-away outlets. There are also several other larger shopping centres within a few minutes drive. A new shopping centre has recently been opened with large supermarket, liquor outlet and chemist. Future development is underway as ay 1/1/23.

Attractions outside crabbing and fishing include canoeing, jet-ski and skiing, whilst being only 500 metres from the beach over the highway is another attraction.

Effective 10/10/2022, a new rail line ha opened from Perth to Perth Airport, this means that it will be possible to travel to / from Dawesville to Perth Airport by public transport inside 2 hours for an introductory cost of $AU 5.00 pp. The travel time compares favourably with driving at a far lower cost.
