Pretty Victorian cottage in village minutes from central Oxford

Our home is cosy, comfortable and characterful. It is part of a small Victorian terrace tucked down an alleyway off the street so is quiet and safe for small children. We have one double bedroom, one bedroom with a full-sized bunkbed, and a sofa bed in the living room. There is a pretty garden perfect for outdoor dining.

About the location

Our home is perfectly located for exploring Oxford, Woodstock and the Cotswolds. It has good bus services and is just a 5 minute drive from Oxford Parkway railway station from where you can reach central London in under an hour and and Bicester Village in just 15 minutes.

Wolvercote is a vibrant village with four excellent pubs (the historic Trout Inn is featured in Morse and Philip Pullman's books), two shops (one right next door) and Sunday a farmers' market. It lies on the edge of Oxford overlooking the wide open space of Port Meadow, 85 acres of common land grazed by horses and cattle. The river Thames runs through the meadow which is also bordered by the Oxford Canal and Burgess Field nature reserve making it superb for walking and bird watching.

There is an excellent bus service into central Oxford or you can walk or cycle in on the canal towpath or river path. Oxford is one of the world's most beautiful cities with something for everyone from parks and gardens, historical monuments, galleries and museums to theatres, live music and an array of international restaurants.

We think Wolvercote offers the best of both worlds: the peaceful charm and proximity to nature of a village with the all culture and amenities of a great city.
