Country home

Situated in the countryside, our house is on a big site and lets one get away from it all yet be within 3 miles from the towns of Crossgar, Killyleagh and Downpatrick and 20 miles from Belfast (where my wife and I commute to each day).
It is on the edge of a protected wildlife site- a fenland, and we often take walks through it in the holidays.
It is a beautiful spot in the spring and summer especially, and sitting down on the decking by the pond and our little orchard of apple and pear trees is very relaxing in the long summer evenings.
We are only 2 miles from the sea "as the crow flies" and you can walk to a sea inlet from our house in around 30 mins.

About the location

The Downpatrick and Lecale area is steeped in history and there are museums, and historical sites too numerous to mention all around. Strangford Lough, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Mourne mountains are all less than 15 miles from our house. The ports of Killyleagh, Ardglass and the beaches at Tyrella and Newcastle are also all nearby. As I said earlier if you fancy at taste of city life Belfast is only 35 mins away.
