Albaston, Tamar Valley

Our home is a cosy converted barn with good sized garden in the beautiful and quiet Tamar Valley.

The local scenery and river are stunning and if you wish to visit the coast`s It`s a 40 - 50 minute drive to the south or north.

About the location

Albaston is a village situated in the Tamar Valley. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and a UNESCO mining heritage area.

There are lots of very pretty rural walks either from the doorstep or a short drive away. Cothele (National Trust) is a 45 minute walk downhill, as is river side Calstock. Dartmoor is also a 20 minute drive away. The nearest south coast beaches are a 40 minute drive and a 50 minute drive to the north coast.

There are plenty of rural pubs nearby. The closest is a 5 minute stroll down the road. There`s a local coop close by and a chippy.

The small station is 5 mins walk away and takes you on a 40 minute scenic journey to central Plymouth.

We have 2 canoes and 2 inflatable boards in the garage which you can borrow ( if you have a means of transporting them to the nearby Tamar). We also have a selection of bikes ( be warned it`s extremely steep around here)!
