Cwm Cole
Cwm Cole is down a quiet lane deep in the South Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a short walk from one of the best stretches of Offa's Dyke.
We offer characterful, quality accommodation for up to 10 in a large stone cottage complete with a charming garden and views to the surrounding hills.
Put your feet up and enjoy the tranquil setting or put on your boots for a hike across the hills. Alternatively, tour and explore the rich history and colour of the Welsh Borders - medieval Ludlow, border castles and award-winning museums and pubs in the local market towns.
If you are a large family or a group of friends looking for a relaxing break in a comfortable and secluded setting, Cwm Cole is ideal.
About the location
Within a half-hour's drive there are many places of interest. The nearest town of Knighton has the Offa's Dyke Visitor's Centre. In the charming market town of Presteigne (to the south) is 'The Judge's Lodgings' - an award winning museum and circuit courthouse.
In Bishop's Castle (to the north) there are two brewery pubs - The Three Tuns will show visitors around 'the oldest brewery in the England' by arrangement.
Ludlow (to the east) is of course famous for its castle, medieval townscapes and market, and is now a magnet for 'foodies'.
Stokesay Castle in Craven Arms is a perfectly preserved 'fortified manor house' - a great place for the whole family, and the nearby 'Land of Lost Content' museum and Shropshire Hills Visitor Centre are also good stand-bys on a rainy day.
