My home is a bright, peaceful two-bedroom flat in East London, right on the edge of Victoria Park. It`s part of the Donnybrook Quarter, designed by Peter Barber Architects and shortlisted for the Stirling Prize, and has that rare London combination of being genuinely calm while still feeling connected to everything. The flat is full of natural light, thoughtfully designed and very comfortable to live in, with a dedicated workspace and fast internet, so it works well whether you want a base for exploring the city or a quiet place to read, write and work. You can walk straight into the park, and the neighbourhood has a relaxed, residential feel that makes it easy to settle into. For someone wanting to experience London from a quieter, greener and more characterful corner of the city, it`s a very good home.

About the location

The area is one of the things I most love about living here. You`re right by Victoria Park, with its Sunday market and lake, which gives the neighbourhood a greener, calmer feel than many parts of London. Hackney Wick is a short walk along the canal, with breweries, studios and good restaurants, and the Olympic Park is just beyond. It`s a part of East London that feels lively and interesting without being overwhelming.

There`s a strong sense of place here: creative, diverse and relaxed, but also practical — good transport links, easy to get around, with everything you need nearby. The Overground gets you to Shoreditch in ten minutes and central London in twenty. For me, it`s one of the best corners of London: green, well connected and full of personality.
