Family-friendly Victorian townhouse - Brighton

This is a spacious, bright house on three levels with plenty of period features. There are Victorian fireplaces, stripped pine doors, original wooden floorboards and a large kitchen (used by people that love cooking and so well equipped with spices, condiments, oils, decent pans and so on) with bi-folding doors which open out to a decked area and garden. We have children and so can provide plenty of toys and books. However, this would also suit a family without children as their things are confined to their rooms.

To explain the configuration of beds-on the top floor, there are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a child`s bedroom with a single bed, and another room that is used as a study but can have a single or double pull out bed in it.

On the middle floor there is a sitting room and bathroom, and in the basement is a kitchen-diner. In the middle bathroom, there is a bath with a handheld shower, but the proper shower is in the en suite of the master bedroom, and so must be accessed through that bedroom.

About the location

Preston Park is a calm, quiet, family friendly part of town. It is a short walk to local pubs (Preston Park Tavern, Park View) and to two parks (Preston Park and Blakers Park).

You can walk to Preston Park station in under 10 minutes; trains reach London within an hour. You can also catch the train into central Brighton (it takes about three minutes) or catch the bus. Alternatively, you can walk to the North Laine in half an hour. It is also a 10-minute car journey to the South Downs, with its great walks (and country pubs). If you like running, it takes about 15 minutes to run to the beach and the same amount of time to be on the Downs.

Brighton is a hugely vibrant, fun city filled with independent restaurants, cafes and shops and set along a beach. It is also highly renowned for language schools - if you have children who want to improve their English you could look at these options: https://www.languageinternational.co.uk/english-schools-brighton-21751
