Lambs Orchard

Lambs Orchard is ideally located just two miles from Rye town and six miles from Camber Sands, meaning it's perfectly placed for self-catering family break or romantic get away. Tastefully decorated and furnished, the cottage is bright and spacious with a large garden perfect for the kids to entertain themselves on a Spring or Summers day, we have collection of ball games (Badminton, croquet etc.). In the evenings you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy the sun set over the old orchard garden or relax in the open plan kitchen whilst you listen do music and play with our range of family games.

The cottage is within reach of a local shop or a short drive into Rye which offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, pubs and The Rye retreat. Camber Sands is about a 6 mile drive, offering beautiful golden sands, a great place to spend a day, either paddling, building sandcastles or walking the dogs amongst the dunes.


Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The ground floor is home to the large kitchen/ dining room with an Aga and a spacious living room lounge area with a wood burning oven to keep you warm in the evenings and comfy sofas to lay on whilst you listen to music or watch a film.
The cottage has 4 bedrooms, one of which you need to walk through to get to the master bedroom which also has an en-suite off it.  There is a separate family bathroom and w.c. there is a bedroom with a double bed, the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, another room that has zip/link beds so it can either be two adult sized singles, or one super king size bed, we can do it either way.  The walk through bedroom has 2 shorter length single beds, ideal for children or adults less than about 5’ 9”.  I am 5’ 6” and I can sleep in one of these singles comfortably.

Outside
Take delight in the seating area on the patio as you look out onto the old orchard amid the apple trees and vast lawn, perfect for the little ones to run around on for those chilled days, offering both sunny and shady spots for long, family lunches and alfresco suppers on summer days, enjoy the BBQ and outside wood burning heater as the evenings draw in.

Practicalities
Lambs Orchard is well equipped, with a washer-dryer, dishwasher, Aga microwave and fridge freezer. There is parking for two cars.

About the location

Rye itself is an old port town and has a perfect jumble of charming inns, antique shops and quaint cottages. There are lots of trinket/junk/antique places to wonder around.

Rye offers a jumble of fine Georgian and medieval houses, cobbled streets and views of Romney Marsh that drew writers EF Benson and Henry James to Rye. Both lived in Lamb House (not Lamb's Orchard itself!), the setting for fictional town Tilling in Benson’s Mapp and Lucia books (as seen in the recent BBC adaptation). Seafood is the other draw: the town is two miles from the sea and perched above the river Rother.
