Old Coach House - Peak District

The Coach House was part of Brassington Hall which was built in 17thC and was converted to a cottage in 1969 which then became the Old Coach House. I purchased it in 2010 and it's given me the greatest pleasure to refurbish and update the workings of the cottage whilst keeping the interiors as original as possible (but without the horses, they made a mess in the sitting room).

Its comfortable, has everything you would want for a pleasant stay and is decorated in a contemporary version of traditional style. Lots of books on the arts for you to read and pictures for you to enjoy. I leave maps and lots of information about the areas with suggestions of what to do and where to go.

The garden is well furnished for evening drinks or just relaxing and reading and there is a pleasant garden room to sit in on a cool day.

The Old Gate is one of two pubs in the village, let me recommend an evening or two chatting to locals and visitors and enjoying excellent food in a great atmosphere. They are on Facebook.

Things to See and Do:

- Walking/Hiking
- Cycling on road/off road
- Horse riding
- Caverns and Caves
- Climbing. The Peaks, has some of the best rock climbing in Britain. I'll leave details of climbs etcetera.
- Visiting Historic Houses and Castles. Haddon Hall is one of the best, it has hardly changed since the 16th C. except for the garden which has been gently updated and is gorgeous. Hardwick Hall, designed by Bess of Hardwick is an incredible Elizabethan Country House which is designated a world heritage site. Chatsworth House is the most popular and there are a number of others.
