Great views of Cuillin Mountains and Portree Bay from tall picture windows, and of Old Man of Storr from garden. Walks from house in amazing scenery. Close to Portree with picturesque harbour, great cafes and restaurants. Two adult bikes + helmets. Ground floor has disabled access.Newly built larch wood house. Oak floors, lovely furnishings and modern retro style kitchen with all new appliances - Neff oven and induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster etc.

Cosy and comfortable with wood burning stove and eco friendly heat recovery system providing warmth and clean air in house.

Fabulous views and walks nearby to the most amazing locations and scenery. Maps and walking books in house. Nice bed linen and towels. Two adult all terrain bikes and helmets, plus bike hire nearby. Lots of outdoor space, garden and small deck and outside seating. Lots of local information on sights, walks, eating out and outdoor activities.

One main downstairs bedroom with queen bed and fitted wardrobes and view of the Cuillin Mountain range. The second bathroom is upstairs next to the open plan den/study/tv room with sofa bed. This room also has a great view of the Cuillins and is a cosy den/study or additional TV room. Please note this open plan room is listed as a bed room as it has a sofa bed if required.

The downstairs shower room has walk -in shower, bidet etc and the upstairs toilet has wc, basin and bidet. Utility room with Miele washer and dryer. Open plan dining area with oak table and chairs, spacious sitting area with G Plan furniture and second tv, I pod dock and radio. Great views of Ben Tianavaig, our local mountain, and over Portree bay to the town and harbour.

There is wifi, Google Home, satellite TV and the mobile phone signal is good. The Ground floor has disabled access.

To welcome you we provide tea, coffee, milk and a snack. Scottish soaps, Ecover laundry and cleaning products and toilet paper are also provided plus several basic household items. We can place a grocery order for you to collect in Portree or if you give enough notice we can have it ready in the house for you.The house is set in its own grounds in a rural location.

Good parking for two or three cars. The whole downstairs area has disabled access. Bikes and garden furniture in shed.

Chairs can be moved round the house outside to catch the sun all day. The small deck area gets the morning sun for breakfast al fresco depending on the weather!

Please note the house is not suitable for young children though we would consider a family with a very young baby.

About the location

Penifiler is a quiet hamlet nice and close to Portree. The neighbours are friendly but not obtrusive and the house is set in its own grounds in a quiet location with no traffic noise.

The Isle of Skye has some amazing restaurants and cafes and there are full details of the best places to eat as well as information on walks, activities and sights to visit. A good size indoor swimming pool with sauna is less than 10 minutes away. The shorter ferry route from Uig to the Outer Hebrides is less than half an hour away. There are magnificent walks nearby and both the Cullins mountain range and the Old Man of Storr are within easy driving distance as are other key sites such as the Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen, Quarang and Staffin Beach where the dinosaurs roamed. The Coral Beach, Talisker Distillery and Dunvegan Castle are also accessible for half day trips.
