We built this rather large rambling bungalow home in 1982 to raise a family and farm avocados - Tamborine Mountain
A private 75 meter driveway past trees and gardens brings you to our home which is a comfortable modern design with large open lounge dining kitchen area looking out onto covered patio with views forever over rain forest and hills. Bedrooms run off this area including a seperate family room surrounded by verandas on all sides.
About the location
Tamborine mountain is a ridge of an extinct volcano about 15 kilometre long averaging 2 kilometre wide running north south at about 500 meter altitude. It is located about 30 kilometres west of the Gold Coast and 70 kilometre south of Brisbane. The 2 village areas located on the north and south end are separated by areas of small scale farming and horticulture. Rain forest and water falls run off this ridge and make available many pleasant walks as does surrounding areas.
The villages include many cafes, bakeries, restaurants, shops, gyms, swimming pools, tennis courts, golf courses and other cultural experiences. Our mountain is recognised for its diversity, music, literature and in some small parts a tourist attraction.
