Sunshine Coast, Australia - Spacious

We are active retirees and experienced home exchangers who love to travel, discover new places and meet new people. We`ve done many wonderful home exchanges in Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

If you are interested in a reciprocal exchange we`d love to hear from you. OUR HOME ON THE SUNSHINE COAST, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

We love our central location on the Sunshine Coast. You can be at the hinterland, national parks, rainforests or sandy beaches, all within approximately 20-30 minutes of our home.

We love to breakfast on the veranda and listen to the birds that often come to visit. We have a subtropical garden setting with garden views from every room.

UPSTAIRS is the main bedroom (queen size bed; 40 inch TV & DVD Player/Recorder/CD player/Radio) with ensuite bathroom & toilet. This opens out onto the verandah. Also upstairs are a 2nd bathroom, toilet, a reading room/study and a children`s playroom (toys for younger children (3-8 years). We also have Lego, board games, chess, jigsaws etc.

The children`s playroom (originally a bedroom) can also be used as a 4th bedroom, if needed. It has a large, comfortable daybed (single bed size) which could be used as a single bed - also great for stretching out to relax and read.

An open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge room (42 inch TV & Xbox Kinect & DVD Player/Recorder) & music room open out onto spacious verandas. The music room has a beautiful grand piano & also a digital piano, flute & guitar.

DOWNSTAIRS are bedroom 2 (queen size bed) and bedroom 3 (with 2 single beds which can be made into a double bed if needed). There is also a large open plan hobby/craft area & lounge area with a 42" TV & DVD Player/Recorder/CD Player/Radio. The downstairs area offers a great separate space for privacy, activities or relaxing.

We also have a portable foldout single bed with a mattress, plus 2 camp beds if needed.

Netflix is available on the TV`s in the upstairs lounge room and main bedroom.

There is WiFi throughout the house.

Reverse Cycle Airconditioning (Heating/Cooling) in the upstairs living area and in the master bedroom.

Dutch Language Television (BVN) is available on all 3 TV`s (2 upstairs & 1 downstairs).

We have undercover parking.

We take pride in our home and would certainly take good care of your home

NOTE RE PHOTOS: The system does not allow captions/explanations for photos. The first 18 are of our home, and garden. The rest are of our area and some we took on day trips from our home.

Our house is not suitable for young children.

** REVIEWS **
Reviews from some past home exchanges on another site:

* Review - May 2019 - The exchange with John and Yvonne has been excellent. Quite enjoyed meeting them in person! Warm and outgoing persons. Communication before, during and after the exchange has been very pleasant and we found our house spotlessly clean and well taken care of.

It has been an exchange in the old home exchange where both parties find pleasure in the exchange itself and in meeting wonderful and warm persons. Thank you John and Yvonne! Have a nice trip to Scandinavia. (Harriet, The Hague, Holland)

* Review - July 2018 - Yvonne & John stayed at our home using a balloon, unfortunately we never had an opportunity to meet them as we were overseas. They treated our home with the utmost respect and left it cleaner than when they got it. It was an absolute pleasure having them stay in our home and we had constant communication with them. We would gladly have them at our house again. Ten out of ten to you both. These kind of people make home exchange an absolute pleasure. (Denise & Dennis, Surfers Paradise, Australia)

* Review - May 2018 - Our first time in Australia, Queensland, The Sunshine Coast. What a fantastic country and on top of that: what a fantastic house. John and Yvonnes house is very homely, large, open and although it lies in a small village, it feels as if you live in a tropical rainforest. Their wonderful veranda gave us a wonderful spot to enjoy the plants, the trees, the outside, the flowers and...the birds! Birds everywhere, most of them unknown to us since we are from Europe. The house is very comfortable, quiet, spacy and decorated with lots of love and care. We had nice conversations via email before, during and after our stay, to exchange experiences in each others worlds.

Burnside/Nambour is a great place to start from to various short and longer trips to the large amount of National Parks, interesting markets (loved Yandina market on Saturday), beautiful beaches, great countryside etc.

Australia is far too big to explore in one holiday - Queensland itself has everything, so we had the time of our life.

Thank you very much Yvonne and John for sharing your house with us, we felt so welcome and enjoyed the contact we had. Let us keep in touch! (Els & Hans, Dordrecht, Holland)

* Review - March 2018 - A really great exchange - we met `half-way` on the way up in Bellingen at a lovely Airbnb overnight - we got on really well and they headed South to `The Boathouse` and we went North to Nambour the next day !

Their home is a real `Queenslander` with dense palms and lush growth around the wide balconies keeping out the sun completely - so very different from our place which is `wall to wall sunshine!`

The area is very hilly and very pretty plus we had a couple of great overnight trips to `1770` up near Bundaberg and the Bunya Mountains up near Dalby - as recommended by our kind hosts - thank you so much! (John & Marg, Buttaba, Lake Macquarie, Australia).
____________________________________________________________________________________ * Review - October 2017 - John & Yvonne`s house is nestled among beautiful palm trees. Therefore is nice and cool in the warm climate. There are some good places to visit within half hour drive. Inland to Montville and the great beaches of Mooloolaba and Maroochydore.
(Jimmy, Queenstown, New Zealand).
____________________________________________________________________________________ * Review - June 2017 - John and Yvonne stayed in our house in June 2017.
We had a plaesant contact with them over the months and they have left our house very clean. Very kind people !!! (Daphne, Vleuten, Holland).

* Review - October 2016 - We stayed in Yvonne and Johns home in October 2016. We met before we travelled and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their home. We were very comfortable and felt as though we were staying in a friends home.

Their home is centrally located to many attractions so there is no shortage of things to see and do. We were equally happy to sit on their lovely deck with a good book. Thanks to both for a lovely break. (Faye & Bruce, Melbourne, Australia).

* Review - June 2015 - We visited this very nice house during June 2015. If suited us nice. (Maarten & Lida, Appeldorn, Holland).
