Comfortable home in Tunbridge Wells

Our house is situated in a quiet private road in the pretty town of Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Our comfortable home sleeps 6 people. We have 2 double bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. We have a bathroom and 2 shower rooms upstairs and a shower room and a toilet downstairs. We have a wood burning stove for use in the winter in addition to central heating.

Outside we have a garden and parking for 2 cars and easy on road parking.

Tunbridge Wells is an historic town with links to royalty. It was a favourite place of Queen Victoria. It has an area called The pantiles which hosts concerts and markets. http://thepantiles.com/

Tunbridge Wells is a short bus ride or a 30 minute walk. Ten minutes walk away is a small village called Rusthall where you can find small grocery stores, a baker, a butcher and a news agent. A large supermarket is a 30 minute walk or 5 minutes in the car.

Tunbridge Wells is in pretty countryside and there are many walks you can take from our house. We have all the maps you need of the local area.

Tunbridge Wells is in Kent – which is also known as the Garden of England. In our area we have many castles, stately homes and gardens to see. Many of these provide activities for children.

London is very do-able in a day. The journey takes between 55 mins (to Charing Cross) . From these stations London is at your feet- from theatres, musicals to world-class food, museums, concerts, shopping to simply mooching about soaking up London life.

It is easy to travel to London (a family of 4 can travel for £28 return at off peak times).

We are experienced exchangers- our first exchange was to Paris 30 years ago. In 2015 we had successful exchanges in North Wales, France, Canada and Belgium. In 2016 we exchanged in France and in 2017 we exchanged in Cardiff. In 2020 we managed to have a lovely exchange in Ludlow between lock downs . In 2021, we exchanged in Bournemouth, Dorset, Wimborne Minster, Dorset, and Suffolk. This year we have exchanged in North Wales and will soon exchange in Leicestershire.
We are open to offers for weekends and longer periods and we are not confined to school holidays (any more!)


Next year 2023 we would like to go to France in August . On this particular exchange we may like to bring family members with us so will need accommodation for up to 6. When travelling with family we would like more than one bathroom and some outside space.

About the location

Our home is situated in a private road on the edge of Tunbridge Wells. It is in a very quiet safe location with friendly neighbours. From our home we can walk into the countryside or into the town . We are a 20 minute walk to The Pantiles, High St and the railway station. We are near many National Trust properties and 50 minutes-1 hour on the train from central London. There are many footpaths from our home- if you enjoy country walking.

The attractive town of Tunbridge Wells has many areas to eat and drink . It has 2 theatres.
