Cottage-style Period home in South East London
A pretty cottage-style terrace house with a large back garden (for London!), our home is in the Progress Estate (conservation area) in Eltham, South East London. It`s on a quiet street and the whole area has a lovely village feel.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs - 1 double and 2 single. The smaller single room has a loftbed/high sleeper so may not be suitable for small children. Downstairs, a living room with a working fireplace and a sofabed, a good-sized kitchen, family bathroom, and our favourite space - the conservatory, which we use as a dining area.
The conservatory leads to the back garden, which has a decking area and a pavilion.
About the location
The Progess Estate in Eltham is a conservation area. The houses were built in 1915 to provide homes for munitions workers at the rapidly expanding Royal Arsenal in nearby Woolwich. It’s widely thought there are no two houses on the estate that are the same.
The area is well served by bus routes, taking you easily to Greenwich old town (Greenwich park, Cutty Sark) or North Greenwich tube station. Oxleas woods, one of the few remaining ancient woodlands in London, is just a street away. There is also the Severndroog Castle to explore when you`re in the woods!
Getting to central London is easy - jump on a train at Eltham station (15 minutes walk) and get to Charing Cross in less than 20 minutes.
Easy access to high street shops (20 minutes walk) or smaller supermarkets (5 minutes walk).
