Large town house near central Cardiff, close to beaches and mountains

A large, comfortable home and garden within short distance of Cardiff city centre and `Europe`s most exciting waterfront development`, Cardiff Bay. The Millennium Stadium, theatres, cinemas, parks, train stations, shopping etc are all within easy reach.

The house features a good-sized lounge with 50” TV and excellent stereo plus comfortable sofas for 5 people and all the books you can read, many of them written by Cardiff`s best-known children`s writer who happens to live here! Adjoining playroom with a tumble dryer which opens to a lovely kitchen-diner with microwave, range cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. The house has five bedrooms, one with super king-size bed, three with doubles and one with a single bed. There is also a PC with wi-fi internet access. There is constant hot water and central heating. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower with half-door disabled access and shower seat, sink and toilet. There is another toilet on the ground floor.

It`s also possible to eat al fresco in a sunny, south-west facing garden and patio with comfortable garden furniture. We have two adult bikes and one child bike.

We also have fantastic and very helpful neighbours, a huge advantage as all experienced home exchangers will testify!

We have a cat who is very friendly and good with children. She can let herself in and out, so will just need feeding and a few strokes!

About the location

Cardiff, capital of Wales, has been ranked the best city to live in in the UK and the third best capital city in Europe (https://www.itv.com/news/wales/2016-02-08/cardiff-ranked-third-best-capital-city-in-europe/). It has an outstanding shopping centre, 11th century castle, spacious and beautiful parks and four international stadiums. It is two hours by train to London and an hour to historic Bath. A short drive away are the beautiful Brecon Beacons national park, the Gower peninsula, the resorts of Barry and Porthcawl, Caerphilly Castle, and many other places of interest - South Wales has it all.

Cardiff also has a low cost urban bike hire scheme: you can take a bike from one location to another and leave it.

Our house is situated in Canton, a sought-after, family-friendly area close to the city centre (5-10 minutes by bus or 25 minute walk). The area has three excellent parks within walking distance, an arts centre including cinema, children`s play centre, good pubs and restaurants and a choice of four nearby supermarkets. There are frequent buses (every five minutes) to the city centre from the end of our road. It is also easy to get out of town from a nearby link road. There is a train station 10-15 minutes walk from our home.
