Victorian terraced house

Our home is a traditional English terraced house, with small gardens to front and back. The main room comprises a sitting area at the front of the house, and a dining area to the rear; there is a door to the back garden from the dining area. The kitchen and laundry/utility room were modernised about ten years ago; there is also a downstairs toilet and shower at the back of the house. From the laundry, there is another door to the garden, which is walled and west-facing. There is a small octagonal greenhouse, and a pergola with vines growing over it, providing shade for the sitting/dining area. Upstairs, there are two main double bedrooms and a very small single bedroom. The bathroom (with shower, bath and WC) was also modernised about ten years ago; there is an additional small separate WC. The two rooms in the attic are our offices.

About the location

Our street is very quiet, with hardly any traffic. We are less than ten minutes walk from the city centre, and three minutes walk from the railway station. The city centre has a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants; tourist attractions include the Royal Cornwall Musuem (small but interesting) and - the city's pride and joy - the Victorian gothic cathedral. The local theatre is the recently renovated and enlarged Hall for Cornwall. Truro is located at the head of a long estuary, and there are boat trips down the river to Falmouth in summer. It is also very centrally located for exploring Cornwall's many wonderful gardens and National Trust properties, its amazing range of beaches, and the world class Southwest Coast Path, which extends for about 1000 km around the entire coast of Cornwall and Devon. Transport links are good, with half hourly trains down to Penzance and 'up-country' to Plymouth, Bristol, and London, and a good network of local buses. Newquay airport is 30 minutes away by car.
