Barra house by the sea
I have worked from home for thirteen years in this traditional Barra house in a wonderfully peaceful location. The part offered for exchange is the ground floor, and the bathroom, one double bedroom, and landing/dining area upstairs.
The main room and bedrooms both have large and deep windows overlooking the sea (the walls are 3 ft thick), the bathroom and kitchen overlook the hill Heaval in the middle of the island, popular with climbers and walking distance from my house.
There`s a bathroom with a bath, a downstairs loo with basin, and an outdoor shower; a log burner and central heating if you need it.
I love swimming in the bay, but there are also two kayaks if you feel adventurous!
About the location
Barra is a world of its own, utterly beautiful, and the house is very peaceful. Rum and Canna are in view on a clear day. The main town of Castlebay is 2 miles away.
