Studio Apartment

Our Studio Apartment is annexed to our property but is detatched and offers a good level of privacy. It's located on a pretty country lane ascending a steep hill leading up to thousands of square acres of woodland and beautiful secluded countryside offering endless choice of footpaths for walking/running/mountain biking. It is located 5-10 mins walk from the center of the town.

The Studio has a double bed and a sofa which can be a single or a double when unfolded. Studio can therefore easily accommodate a single adult and child or couple and child.

There is a fully equipped kitchen area also with small electric hob, small oven, fridge, cupboard space, dining table, kettle, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher, iron amd ironing board. The kitchen area has interesting views of the distant sky line and the neighbouring historic house

There is also a separate shower room with WC, and wash basin.

The studio is heated by under-floor heating but also has a wood-burner for cosiness in the colder months. Wood provided.

Attatched to the annexe is a decking area with table and chairs, a good sized garden on a slight slope which offers lovely views at the top, with a large trampolene, summer house, large table and chairs/parasol and outdoor cooking/dining facilities. There is sunshine in this garden from midday onwards. Dining at the top of the garden on a warm summer evening is sublime.

It all has a lovely country lane feeling with much wild life and owls may be heard at night in the surrounding trees.

There are some steep steps to the studio so unfortunately it isn't suitable for somebody with accessibility requirements.

Parking is directly outside the studio with space for two cars. The large secure garage is free for use for storing bikes, camping stuff and a car if required.

About the location

This area is within the western edge of the Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty.

Wotton Under Edge is an historic small town with many amenities including two small supermarkets one of which opens from 7 am until 10 pm. There are several pubs and a wine bar, cinema, small outdoor pool, library, choices for takeaways, a deli selling home made meals bread and treats, a bakery, Indian dining and a pub specialising in steak/burgers made with locally sourced beef. There are a few very good cafes and many other small businesses.

Wotton Under Edge is positioned within easy distance of Bristol (30 mins), Bath (45 mins), Cheltenham (40 mins), Gloucester (30 mins) and Cirencester (40 mins) and South Wales. There are five national trust properties within easy reach of the town.

The Cotswolds Water Park offers water activities such as wind surfing and water skiing and childrens' inflatable adventure.

There are many choices for riding lessons and of course dog-walking. This area is very popular for mountain biking.

In nearby South Wales there are many things to do and see, such as Raglan Castle, Caerleon Roman Fort town/museum. Hiking in the Black Mountains and beaches a little further afield.

Avebury stone Circle is one hour from Wotton.

Bristol and Bath are both fascinating historic cities with many attractions for a great day out perhaps with a visit to Bristol Old Vic theatre or Theatre Royal Bath.

The historic town (and home to King Charles) of Tetbury is nearby with all it's antique shops, pubs, bistros and local walks.

The local large town of Stroud is near by with a large LIDO pool, cinema, many pubs, shopping including a wonderful large continental style food market, a must for any foodie.

London may be accessed directly and in under one hour from Kemble and Stroud train stations (both under 30 mins away). Bristol airport is 50 minutes by car. There is a free car park at the local train station (10 mins) for accessing trains to Bristol, Gloucester and Cheltenham with direct trains to further locations eg. Weymouth.
