Attractive spacious home in Vale of Glamorgan village

This semi-detached house has been recently re-modelled and extended by architect owner to provide light and airy practical and characterful space. At the front, the house overlooks a green space with a lovely chestnut tree, and a backdrop of further trees. The accommodation comprises: DOWNSTAIRS: Draught Lobby, Entrance Hall with coats cupboard, Study/Guest Bedroom with sofa bed, Cloakroom with walk-in shower, wc and vanity unit with full size basin (essentially a second bathroom), Living Room with Freeview TV streamer/recorder, Kitchen with twin ovens, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, Dining Area adjacent, separated by a breakfast bar, Utility Room with washing machine and heat pump tumble dryer, Boiler room and store. About the location

St Athan is located at the east end of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. Though a fairly small village, there are three shops, including a Co-op, two pubs, two takeaways, a pharmacy and surgeries, all within easy walking distance of the house. A regular bus service from the village serves Cardiff and Bridgend, and links to the nearest railway stations at Llantwit and Rhoose. The village is about a mile from the sea at Gileston. This is a pebbly/bouldered beach, but further to the west are numerous beaches of various kinds, many backed by the distinctive stratified cliffs which distinguish this coast. 10 minutes` drive to the west is the ancient small town of Llantwit Major, with many historic buildings and network of narrow alleys, and a surfing beach with lovely cliff and valley walks, and 20-25 minutes will take you to Southerndown, with its splendid beaches, breathtaking views along the coast, and the walled gardens of a former castle. Another five to ten minutes will take you to the sandy beach at Ogmore-by-Sea. Inland a little, and 15 minutes away, is the attractive market town of Cowbridge, with lots of interesting individual shops, and a Physic Garden. Other local attractions are various castles, including Caerphilly and Castle Coch, and the Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans, with its castle and gardens, and an open-air museum with numerous historic buildings relocated in extensive grounds. St Athan even has its own aeronautical museum, which is worth a visit at weekends. 20 minutes to the west is Barry, with its beautiful clean sandy beaches, and, for the brave, a funfair with some vertigo-inducing rides! Cardiff is about 30 minutes` drive, with theatres, concert halls, the National Museum, and much more This is by no means an extensive list!
