Stand-alone country house with large garden and swimming pool on Lantau Island near to the old fishing village of Tai O.

Nestled in a very quiet and peaceful location set amongst the trees (yet just a few minutes from the main road and bus stop).

The house is designed on 3 floors with a spacious modern kitchen, dining room, and conservatory and sitting area on the ground floor. On the second floor are two double bedrooms (one with an en-suite bathroom). On the third floor is the master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a large sitting room, all with beautiful views of the garden and surrounding hillside.

All upstairs rooms lead onto balconies and sunshine pours into the house most days.

The rooftop has the laundry and a small workout space, together with an outside sitting area where you can escape from family activities.

There is also a helper who mainly takes care of the garden but will be happy to cook some Sri Lanka curries for you or assist in any household chores.

About the location

Tai O is one of the few remaining traditional fishing villages in Hong Kong and you will enjoy observing the village life. There are a few coffee shops and fresh fish and vegetarian restaurants, boat trips through the village and out to sea where, if you are really lucky, you may catch the glimpse of the pink dolphins.

There are also many hikes and waterfalls on the island for you to explore as well as the Trappist Monastery and the Po Lin Monastery where you can climb up to view the 85ft. Giant Buddha.

Lantau is also proud of its beaches where you can swim safely in the sea or enjoy many different water sports. And if you are feeling energetic there are bicycles, and also helmets, at your disposal, you may borrow these anytime to explore the trails.

There are buses that travel frequently from Tai O along the South Lantau road past the beaches to both Mui Wo and Tung Chung (approx. 30 mins). In Mui Wo you can catch a ferry to Central or from Tung Chung you can get the MTR into Central. (both approx. 30 mins).
