Static Caravan

Lovely static caravan with private garden, with very pleasant views all around. Entrance is into the kitchen diner. There is a freezer, fridge, washing machine, dish washer, microwave. I use the Ninja airfryer 11-in-1 as the main cooking source, as it is a marvel of technology!! (Although an oven and gas hobs are available.) Dining table seating four. Comfortable arm chair and roomy sofa, part of which can pull out into a bed settee. Coffee table, TV with TV aerial, blueray player, Apple TV box for catch-up TV. Plenty of DVDs. Central heating. Single bedroom with full size single bed, comfortable mattress, small wardrobe, drawers. Family shower room with toilet and sink. Main bedroom with comfortable king size bed. Ensuite toilet and sink. There is wifi on the site.

About the location

The caravan is situated in the grounds of Valle Crucis, an ancient monastery. It is owned by Cadw, and is well worth visiting. The area is full of walks from the doorstep, but also only a two mile, safe walking route to the beautiful, friendly small town of Llangollen, situated on the River Dee. There are many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Llangollen hosts the yearly International Eisteddfod, with entrants from across the globe. There are also a wide range of fringe events going on around the town. Historic Castell Dinas Brân is around a 40 minute enjoyable walk from the centre of the town, there are horsedrawn boat trips along the canal, and a 10 mile steam railway running to Corwen. There are frequent events staged in the town hall, such as opera, good amdram, and choral events. The excellent Rhos male voice choir is based just outside Wrexham, and Froncysyllte male voice choir just up the road. There are some good bus links, for instance the seaside town of Barmouth is accessible within 1.5 hour bus trip (cheap day ticket available, request from driver). There is a friendly and informative local museum, a health food shop, a local butcher etc, a tourist information office and library and a good independent art gallery, the Dory Gallery, open at weekends. There are watersports such as kayaking and white water rafting available, and a bike rental facility. The National Trust properties of Chirk Castle, Erddig, Powis Castle and Bodnant Gardens are all accessible. The Ladies of Llangollen were visited at their home in Plas Newydd, Llangollen, by Anne Lister, of Gentleman Jack fame. Plas Newydd is well worth a visit, and has beautiful gardens free to enter, and a tea room. Pontcysyllte aquaduct, a World Heritage site, is a short car ride away, or during the season on Saturdays there is a hop on/hop off bus linking the local area. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is an excellent family day out. The lovely old market town of Ruthin is a 30m car journey. Onsite there is a decent bar/restaurant, open throughout the season, and Thursday to Sunday out of season.
