Spacious English Countryside House in Suffolk

Our home is modern but built in the old Suffolk style. We have 5 bedrooms (4 double and 1 single), a large main bathroom and an en-suite to the very spacious master bedroom. Downstairs is a large living room, a modern kitchen, separate dining room, utility and study. There is also a downstairs toilet/shower room. The garden is large (approx 1/3 acre) and private with a patio and outdoor seating area. It is enclosed and gated. The driveway is in/out (two entrances) and there is parking for several cars.

Our home is on the edge of a small village dating from at least 1225. This village is less than a mile from a market town (Saxmundham) first recorded in 1086. Saxmundham has a range of amenities including two supermarkets, a pharmacy, butcher, hardware and coffee shops. All within a 20 minute walk. We are 5 miles from the beautiful Suffolk coast.

About the location

Our home is a great base for exploring the East of England including the wonderful coastal towns of Aldeburgh (5 miles) and Southwold (15 miles). In a addition we are less than a mile from a railway station that makes day trips into London a reality, such that you can enjoy the big City or maybe a matinee in the West End but return to your rural home at night. This also applies to Cambridge. The cathedral city of Norwich is only an hour's drive away and within 20 mins drive are the castles at Framlingham and Orford; the amazing bird reserve at Minsmere and numerous ancient English villages and lovely small towns such as Woodbridge. The world renowned Snape concert hall at Snape Maltings is only 2 miles from our house.
We have 3 independent cinemas within 20 to 25 minutes drive; countless footpaths for exploring the countryside and coast and too many golf courses to list. Sailing is a huge local pastime (we're close to rivers) as well as cycling (Tunstall and Rendlesham Forests have numerous bike trails and are within a few minutes drive). The food scene is vibrant with many special pubs and some great restaurants in the vicinity. We love Suffolk and hope you will too.
Stansted airport is less than 1 hour 30 minutes drive from the house, so for longer stays a quick trip across to Europe for a short visit to Rome, Paris or wherever you fancy is easy.
